Job Title: TGT/PRT Social Science Teacher

Job Summary
The TGT/PRT Social Science Teacher will be responsible for teaching Social Science at the Primary (PRT) and Middle/Secondary (TGT) levels, depending on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and school requirements. The teacher will teach subjects such as History, Geography, Civics, and Economics, while developing students’ knowledge, critical thinking, communication skills, and overall personality.
For the PRT level, the teacher will introduce Social Science and Environmental/Social Studies concepts through age-appropriate, engaging, and activity-based learning. For the TGT level, the teacher will deliver the prescribed Social Science curriculum for Classes VI–X with greater emphasis on conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, and examination preparation.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver effective lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, projects, and assessments for PRT and TGT classes.
Teach Social Science/EVS at the Primary level and History, Geography, Civics, and Economics at the TGT level, as assigned.
Conduct interactive, activity-based, and experiential classroom sessions appropriate to students’ age and learning levels.
Use maps, charts, models, presentations, smart boards, videos, and digital learning tools to enhance students’ understanding.
Develop students’ critical thinking, creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Assess and monitor students’ academic progress through classwork, homework, projects, periodic assessments, and examinations.
Provide constructive feedback and individual academic support to students.
Maintain accurate student records, attendance, assessment data, and examination reports.
Create a positive, inclusive, disciplined, and engaging learning environment.
Encourage discussions, quizzes, projects, debates, role plays, presentations, and experiential learning activities.
Provide additional support and remedial guidance to students who require academic assistance.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding students’ academic progress, and development.
Participate actively in PTMs, staff meetings, school events, assemblies, workshops, and co-curricular activities.
Collaborate with fellow teachers and coordinators for curriculum planning, lesson development, assessments, and academic implementation.
Stay updated with effective teaching methodologies, educational technology, and age-appropriate pedagogical practices.
