Job Purpose
The Senior Litigation Officer will be responsible for managing and monitoring the organisation’s litigation portfolio, coordinating with external advocates and legal consultants, ensuring timely compliance with court proceedings, and providing effective legal support to protect the organisation’s interests.
Key Responsibilities1. Litigation Management
· Manage and monitor civil, commercial, criminal, labour, property and other legal matters involving the organisation.
· Maintain a comprehensive database and status tracker of all ongoing litigation.
· Monitor court dates, hearings, orders, judgments and statutory deadlines.
· Ensure timely filing of petitions, written statements, affidavits, applications, appeals and other legal documents.
· Review case developments and provide regular updates to management.
2. Legal Drafting & Documentation
· Draft and review legal notices, replies, pleadings, affidavits, applications, agreements and other legal documents.
· Assist in preparing case briefs, legal opinions and written submissions.
· Review documents, contracts and correspondence from a litigation and risk-management perspective.
· Conduct legal research on applicable laws, rules, regulations and judgments.
3. Advocate & External Counsel Coordination
· Coordinate with advocates, law firms and external legal consultants on ongoing matters.
· Brief advocates with relevant facts, documents and case history.
· Follow up on hearings, filings, orders and other court-related activities.
· Review legal fees, invoices and supporting documents submitted by external counsel.
· Ensure advocates receive timely instructions and required documentation.
4. Property & Real Estate Litigation
· Handle and monitor disputes relating to land, property, title, possession, development agreements, construction and real estate transactions.
· Coordinate with internal teams for collection and verification of property-related documents.
· Assist in title-related disputes, injunction matters, recovery proceedings and other property litigation.
· Support the legal team in due diligence and identification of potential litigation risks.
5. Compliance & Risk Management
· Ensure compliance with court orders, legal notices, statutory requirements and regulatory directions.
· Identify potential legal risks and escalate critical matters to senior management.
· Maintain proper records of notices, pleadings, orders, judgments and case-related documents.
· Ensure important legal deadlines are tracked and acted upon within the prescribed timelines.
6. Internal Coordination
· Coordinate with HR, Finance, Projects, Operations, Administration and other departments for litigation-related matters.
· Collect relevant documents, records and information required for legal proceedings.
· Provide practical legal guidance to internal stakeholders on disputes and potential claims.
7. Reporting & MIS
· Prepare periodic litigation reports and MIS for management.
· Maintain case-wise records covering case number, parties, court, advocates, hearing dates, current status, next action and financial exposure.
· Highlight high-risk, time-sensitive and financially significant matters to management.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) is mandatory.
· Additional legal qualification or specialisation in litigation is an advantage.
· 10–15 years of relevant experience in litigation, preferably with a corporate, real estate, infrastructure or legal firm.
· Strong knowledge of Indian civil, commercial, property and corporate laws.

· Proficiency in MS Office and legal case-management systems.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience in real estate developers, builders, infrastructure companies, corporate litigation or property-related litigation will be preferred.
