JOB DESCRIPTION – PURCHASE HEAD
Position: Purchase Head
Gender: Male / Female
Experience: 8–10 Years
Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering.
Location: Vaghodiya GIDC, Vadodara
Key Skills & Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Electrical Components and Electrical Panels
- Good knowledge of Electrical Panel Components, Switchgear and Control Components
- Knowledge of procurement of Electrical, Mechanical and Sheet Metal Components
- Strong knowledge of Vendor Development and Vendor Management
- Experience in Purchase Planning, Sourcing and Cost Negotiation
- Ability to identify and evaluate suitable suppliers
- Strong negotiation and cost-saving skills
- Knowledge of RFQ, quotation comparison, purchase orders and procurement processes
- Ability to coordinate with Production, Stores, Quality and Engineering Departments
- Good knowledge of inventory planning and material availability
- Experience in handling local and outside vendors
- Good knowledge of ERP/Purchase Management Systems
- Strong communication, leadership and decision-making skills
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the complete purchase and procurement activities of the organization.
- Source and procure electrical components, panel components and other materials as per requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery schedules and quality requirements.
- Evaluate quotations and prepare comparative statements.
- Release and monitor Purchase Orders (POs).
- Ensure timely availability of materials for production.
- Monitor vendor performance, quality and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate with Stores, Production, Engineering and Accounts for procurement-related activities.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Maintain proper purchase records and documentation.
Preferred Candidate
Candidate should have strong practical knowledge of electrical components and electrical panels, along with excellent experience in vendor development, procurement, negotiation and purchase management.
