Job Title: QC Inspector
Department: Quality Control
Reporting to: Quality Manager
Job Purpose:
To ensure that products meet the defined quality standards by conducting regular inspections, tests, and documentation at various stages of the production process. The QC Inspector will help in maintaining product reliability, minimizing defects, and ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. In-Process and Final Inspection
Conduct quality checks during production for parameters such as dimension, insulation,
adhesion, and visual defects.
Perform final inspections before dispatch to ensure product conformity to standards.
2. Testing & Measurement
Operate testing equipment like micrometres, tensile testing machines, continuity testers,
elongation testers, etc.
Accurately measure and record properties like conductor resistance, insulation thickness,
and enamel adherence.
3. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain inspection reports, test records, rejection logs, and quality checklists.
Ensure traceability and proper documentation of inspected lots.
4. Process Monitoring
Monitor process parameters and ensure operators follow SOPs.
Identify deviations in real-time and inform relevant teams for corrective actions.
5. Coordination
Work closely with production, maintenance, and QA teams to resolve quality issues.
Support internal and external audits by providing inspection data and reports.
6. Continuous Improvement
Participate in root cause analysis of defects and suggest preventive measures.
Assist in implementation of quality improvement initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and ISO
documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
Educational Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical field.
Experience: 2–5 years in a quality inspection role, preferably in wire & cable or copper
manufacturing.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of quality standards and inspection techniques.
Familiarity with wire drawing, enamelling, and insulation processes is a plus.
Good understanding of instruments like micrometres, vernier callipers, and resistance
testers.
Attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Basic knowledge of ISO/TS standards and customer quality requirements.
