About KAI
KAI is a technology company building software and AI-powered products around real business problems.
Our first product, Aarvika, is a next-generation restaurant management platform designed to bring core restaurant operations into one connected system, including POS, inventory management, accounting, workforce management, analytics, and AI-powered business intelligence.
Aarvika is being built to reduce manual work, improve operational visibility, and help restaurant owners make better decisions using real-time data, automation, and intelligent insights.
The product is being built from the ground up, giving our engineering team the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to product architecture, technical decisions, and how the platform evolves from concept to production.
What You’ll Work On
As a Full-Stack Software Engineer at KAI, you’ll work closely with the product and leadership team across the full product development cycle.
You will be involved in:
- Building full-stack applications across Aarvika’s POS, inventory, accounting, workforce, analytics, and operational modules
- Developing clean, responsive, and intuitive user interfaces
- Building a fast and reliable POS experience designed for real restaurant environments
- Designing and developing backend systems, APIs, databases, and application architecture
- Building reliable data synchronization for workflows that need to continue functioning during unstable or interrupted internet connectivity
- Developing authentication, dashboards, analytics, reporting, notifications, and administrative features
- Integrating AI models and APIs into practical product workflows
- Building AI-powered features such as sales forecasting, automated business insights, recommendations, and natural-language reporting
- Integrating third-party APIs and external services, including payment infrastructure
- Translating product requirements and designs into reliable working software
- Testing, debugging, optimizing, and maintaining applications
- Contributing to decisions around architecture, scalability, security, performance, and reliability
- Taking features from concept through development and production
- Improving the product based on user feedback and business requirements
What We’re Looking For
We care about strong technical ability, problem-solving skills, and the quality of what you can actually build.
You should have:
- Strong understanding of full-stack web development
- Experience with modern JavaScript and TypeScript
- Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, or similar technologies
- Backend development experience using Node.js, Python, or comparable technologies
- Understanding of REST APIs and modern application architecture
- Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Understanding of Git and collaborative development workflows
- Experience integrating third-party APIs
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable code
- Understanding of performance, reliability, and application security
- Interest in AI-powered software and emerging technologies
Strong Plus
Experience with any of the following will be valuable, but is not mandatory:
- Payment gateway integrations such as Razorpay, Cashfree, PayU, or similar platforms
- POS systems
- Offline-first applications and data synchronization
- Multi-location or multi-branch software architecture
- Restaurant, retail, hospitality, ERP, or operations-focused software
- Real-time dashboards and analytics systems
AI Experience
You do not need to be an AI researcher or machine-learning specialist.
Experience with any of the following is a strong advantage:
- OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or other LLM APIs
- AI agents and workflow automation
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Embeddings and vector databases
- Prompt engineering
- AI-powered recommendations, search, analytics, or automation
- Building applications that integrate AI models into real business workflows

AI-assisted development tools are welcome and encouraged.
However, engineers should understand the code and systems they build, be able to debug their own work, explain their technical decisions, and make informed engineering choices rather than relying entirely on generated code.
