Job Purpose
Responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, safety, and upkeep of the hotel’s engineering systems, equipment, utilities, and infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted and efficient hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering Operations
- Supervise all engineering and maintenance activities across the hotel.
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, lifts, DG sets, STP, swimming pool, fire systems, and other utilities.
- Monitor daily engineering operations and attend to breakdowns promptly.
- Preventive Maintenance
- Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment and facilities.
- Maintain proper records of maintenance, servicing, repairs, and breakdowns.
- Ensure critical equipment is regularly inspected and maintained.
- Team Management
- Lead, supervise, and allocate duties to the engineering team.
- Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate manpower coverage for all shifts.
- Train engineering staff on equipment operation, safety procedures, and preventive maintenance.
- Energy & Cost Control
- Monitor electricity, water, fuel, and other utility consumption.
- Identify opportunities to reduce energy and maintenance costs without affecting guest comfort or safety.
- Monitor DG operation and fuel consumption.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with electrical, fire, lift, boiler, pollution control, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Coordinate inspections and renewals of statutory licences and certificates.
- Ensure all safety equipment and systems are operational.
- Guest & Operational Support
- Respond immediately to engineering complaints from guests and operational departments.
- Coordinate with Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Kitchen, Security, and other departments for maintenance requirements.
- Ensure engineering-related complaints are resolved within the required time.
- Vendor & Contractor Management
- Coordinate with external vendors and service contractors.
- Obtain quotations and evaluate service requirements.
- Monitor the quality and timely completion of outsourced maintenance work.
- Budget & Inventory
- Prepare the annual engineering maintenance budget.
- Control expenditure within the approved budget.
- Monitor engineering spare parts, tools, and consumables and maintain adequate stock.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain equipment history, maintenance schedules, breakdown reports, utility records, and service contracts.
- Submit regular engineering reports to management.
- Maintain records of AMC and warranty agreements.
- Emergency Management
- Take immediate action during power failures, equipment breakdowns, fire emergencies, water supply issues, and other engineering emergencies.
- Coordinate with Security and other departments during emergencies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Hotel Engineering.
- Minimum 8–12 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in a hotel/resort environment.
- Previous experience in a Chief Engineer / Engineering Manager role in a hotel is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hotel utilities, HVAC, electrical systems, DG, STP, fire & safety systems, and general maintenance.
- Good leadership, problem-solving, vendor-management, and communication skills.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
