Key Responsibilities
Hydraulic Cylinder Manufacturing & Repair
- Lead day-to-day hydraulic cylinder repair and manufacturing operations.
- Personally provide technical guidance on cylinder production, rebuilding and repair.
- Inspect, dismantle, diagnose and assess hydraulic cylinders.
- Oversee cylinder component manufacturing, machining, welding, honing and assembly.
- Ensure correct measurement, tolerances and fitment of hydraulic components.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic and mechanical failures.
- Supervise testing and quality inspection of completed cylinders.
- Establish efficient repair and production processes.
Workshop Management
- Plan and allocate daily workshop activities.
- Supervise technicians, artisans and workshop support staff.
- Monitor productivity, turnaround time and job completion.
- Ensure availability and proper use of tools, machinery and workshop equipment.
- Maintain workshop records, job cards and production documentation.
- Manage workshop consumables, spare parts and materials.
- Coordinate procurement requirements with management.
Quality & Safety
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.
- Establish inspection and testing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with workshop health and safety requirements.
- Identify and reduce rework, defects and production wastage.
- Maintain an organized and professional workshop environment.
Team Leadership
- Train and mentor technicians in hydraulic cylinder repair and manufacturing.
- Allocate work according to technical capability and workload.
- Monitor employee performance and productivity.
- Build a technically capable hydraulic workshop team.
Business & Operations
- Support management in establishing the new hydraulic cylinder business.
- Develop practical workshop processes and SOPs.
- Assist with costing, material requirements and job estimates.
- Monitor turnaround time and workshop productivity.
- Prepare regular operational reports for management.
- Support continuous improvement and expansion of hydraulic repair/manufacturing capabilities.
