Job Brief
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to manage our core accounting functions and ensure the integrity of our financial operations. In this role, you will take ownership of the general ledger, spearhead the financial closing cycles, and handle tax compliance. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of financial principles, advanced data skills, and the leadership capacity to mentor junior staff.
Key Responsibilities & DutiesFinancial Reporting & General Ledger
- Execute close cycles: Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures with strict deadline adherence.
- Manage the ledger: Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Prepare statements: Compile accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow reports.
- Maintain assets: Oversee fixed-asset tracking, depreciation schedules, and multi-entity intercompany transactions.
Compliance & Audit Coordination
- Ensure standards: Maintain strict alignment with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or IFRS, alongside internal controls.
- Facilitate audits: Prepare complex documentation packages and act as the primary liaison for external auditors.
- Manage tax filings: Oversee corporate tax computations, local filings (e.g., Sales Tax, VAT, or GST depending on location), and regulatory compliance.
Financial Analysis & Strategy
- Analyze variances: Evaluate monthly financial performance against budget expectations and report discrepancies to management.
- Optimize cash flow: Monitor corporate cash flow trends and recommend practical cost-reduction or revenue-enhancement actions.
- Improve processes: Evaluate existing accounting software workflows and design internal control enhancements to minimize risk.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor team members: Review work, assign daily accounting tasks, and provide technical guidance to junior accountants and bookkeepers.
- Cross-functional support: Work closely with department heads and operational managers to streamline cross-department financial tracking.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related economic field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5+ years of progressive, professional accounting experience.
- Certifications: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation is highly preferred.
- Software Expertise: Hands-on proficiency with mid-to-enterprise level ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and specialized platforms like QuickBooks.
- Technical Excel Skills: Expert mastery of Microsoft Excel, specifically utilizing advanced formulas, VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, and complex Pivot Tables.
- Analytical Mindset: Exceptional quantitative skills with a documented track record of high accuracy and sharp attention to detail
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
