Role Purpose
Cayana Infratech Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced and dynamic Project Head (Civil) to lead the end-to-end execution of residential and commercial construction projects. The Project Head will be responsible for delivering projects within defined timelines, quality standards, and budgets while ensuring seamless coordination among internal teams, consultants, contractors, and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership capabilities, excellent technical expertise, and extensive experience managing building construction projects in Odisha, particularly Bhubaneswar and Puri. Familiarity with the local construction ecosystem, labour availability, contractors, statutory processes, and site conditions will be a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Leadership & Execution
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of multiple construction projects.
- Drive project delivery in accordance with approved schedules, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
- Ensure smooth coordination among engineering, procurement, design, and site execution teams.
- Review project performance and implement corrective actions wherever required.
2. Construction Management
- Oversee all civil construction activities including excavation, RCC, structural works, masonry, waterproofing, MEP coordination, finishing, landscaping, and handover.
- Ensure execution complies with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant IS Codes.
- Monitor productivity and optimize utilization of manpower, equipment, and construction resources.
3. Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Site Engineers, Civil Supervisors, QA/QC personnel, and contractors.
- Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance to achieve project objectives.
4. Contractor & Vendor Management
- Manage contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure timely project execution.
- Review contractor performance and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
- Resolve site-level technical and operational challenges efficiently.
5. Planning, Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare and monitor project execution plans.
- Track project costs and resource utilization against approved budgets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
- Review bills, BOQs, work measurements, and contractor certifications.
6. Quality Assurance
- Establish and enforce quality management systems across all project sites.
- Conduct periodic quality audits and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with approved construction methodologies, engineering standards, and company quality policies.
- Drive timely closure of snag lists and quality observations.
7. Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP consultants, government authorities, and internal management.
- Represent the company during technical discussions and project review meetings.
- Maintain strong relationships with local agencies and service providers.
8. Risk & Compliance Management
- Identify project risks related to execution, resources, costs, and timelines.
- Develop mitigation strategies to minimize delays and operational challenges.
- Ensure compliance with statutory approvals, safety regulations, labour laws, and environmental norms.
9. Reporting & Management Reviews
- Present weekly and monthly project updates to senior management.
- Monitor key project performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare progress reports, resource plans, risk registers, and completion forecasts.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of residential and commercial building construction.
- Expertise in RCC, structural works, finishing, QA/QC, and construction methodologies.
- Strong project planning and execution capabilities.

- Budget monitoring and cost control.

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Project (preferred), AutoCAD (basic understanding), MS Excel, and project reporting tools.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Strong understanding of the construction ecosystem in Bhubaneswar and Puri.
- Well-connected with local contractors, vendors, consultants, and construction resources.
- Experience handling premium residential or commercial real estate projects.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong organizational and leadership capabilities with a hands-on approach to project execution.
Qualification
- B.Tech / BE in Civil Engineering (Preferred)
- M.Tech or Project Management certification will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 12–18 years of experience in building construction.
- At least 5–7 years in a leadership role managing projects independently.
- Experience leading residential or commercial real estate projects from planning to handover.
- Prior experience in projects across Odisha, especially Puri and Bhubaneswar, will be highly preferred.
