We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Product Designer to join our leather goods manufacturing and export unit in Jaipur. In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing innovative, trendy, and functional leather bags (handbags, backpacks, slings, clutches) and small leather goods. You will oversee the design process from initial sketching to the final prototype stage, ensuring high quality and commercial viability. Key Responsibilities: Concept Development: Research global and domestic fashion trends to create seasonal mood boards and fresh design concepts for leather bags and accessories. Sketching & Digital Design: Generate precise hand-drawn sketches and detailed 2D/3D digital illustrations of new products. Tech Pack Creation: Develop comprehensive Technical Packs (Tech Packs) including precise dimensions, stitching details, hardware specifications, and material construction notes. Material & Hardware Sourcing: Source appropriate leather types, linings, reinforcement materials, and metal hardware (zippers, buckles, locks) from the market. Sampling & Prototyping: Collaborate closely with master pattern makers and sampling tailors to turn designs into physical samples; troubleshoot any construction or fit issues. Costing & Optimization: Ensure designs align with the company’s target production costs without compromising aesthetic value or quality. Qualifications & Skills: Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accessory Design, Leather Design, or Product Design (Graduates from NIFT, FDDI, or similar premier design institutes will be highly preferred). Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CorelDRAW. Knowledge of 3D rendering software is a plus. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of different types of leather, tanning processes, pattern making, cutting techniques, and bag construction. Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills to coordinate with factory craftsmen, a strong problem-solving mindset, and the ability to meet production timelines.
