Job Location: Thiruporur
Experience: 10–15 years in aluminium doors, windows, façade, uPVC, fabrication, or sheet metal manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Qualification:
- B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Quality Management, or Production Planning are an advantage.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Factory Manager to lead the complete manufacturing operations of our aluminium doors and windows factory. The successful candidate will oversee production planning, fabrication, machining, assembly, quality control, inventory, maintenance, dispatch, and workforce management while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Control
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on project schedules.
- Ensure production targets are achieved without compromising quality.
- Coordinate with the Design, Estimation, Procurement, Projects, and Stores teams to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Monitor work orders and prioritize urgent customer requirements.
- Optimize machine utilization and labour productivity.
Manufacturing Operations
- Supervise all fabrication activities, including cutting, machining, punching, assembly, glazing, hardware installation, and packing.
- Ensure adherence to approved fabrication drawings and work instructions.
- Standardize manufacturing processes to improve consistency and efficiency.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
Quality Management
- Establish and maintain quality standards across all manufacturing stages.
- Ensure products meet client specifications and approved shop drawings.
- Conduct regular quality inspections and implement preventive actions.
- Monitor rework and rejection levels and reduce recurring defects.
- Coordinate with site teams to address factory-related quality issues.
Workforce Management
- Lead and motivate production supervisors, machine operators, fabricators, assemblers, helpers, and dispatch teams.
- Allocate manpower effectively across production lines.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.
- Promote discipline, teamwork, and accountability on the shop floor.
Material & Inventory Management
- Coordinate with Stores and Procurement to ensure timely availability of aluminium profiles, glass, hardware, gaskets, sealants, and consumables.
- Minimize material wastage and improve yield.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure proper inventory control.
- Support periodic stock verification and reconciliation.
Machine & Equipment Management
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
- Coordinate machine repairs to minimize downtime.
- Recommend new machinery and process improvements to increase productivity.
- Maintain safe and efficient operation of all equipment.
Dispatch & Logistics
- Plan and monitor dispatch schedules in line with project requirements.
- Ensure products are packed, labelled, and loaded safely.
- Coordinate with the Projects team to ensure timely deliveries.
- Verify dispatch documentation before shipment.
Cost Control
- Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for savings.
- Improve labour productivity and machine efficiency.
- Reduce scrap, wastage, and rework.
- Track factory operating expenses and recommend cost-effective improvements.
Health, Safety & Housekeeping
- Ensure compliance with all workplace safety requirements.
- Enforce the use of PPE by all employees.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping using 5S principles.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and environmental regulations.
Reporting & MIS
- Prepare daily production reports.
- Track production versus plan.
- Monitor labour productivity and machine utilization.
- Submit weekly and monthly MIS reports to management.
- Analyse production performance and recommend improvements.
Required SkillsTechnical Skills
- Strong knowledge of aluminium doors, windows, ventilators, glazing systems, and façade fabrication.
- Expertise in fabrication processes, assembly techniques, and quality standards.
- Ability to interpret architectural, fabrication, and shop drawings.
- Knowledge of production planning, capacity planning, and workflow optimization.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production reporting.
