ABOUT STRATUM DEFENSE TECHNOLOGY
Stratum Defense Technology LLP is an Indian defence technology company building autonomous systems for the Indian armed forces. We are at the founding stage, developing indigenous autonomous platforms under the Government of India's Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) framework, built to Made in Bharat content goals. Our flagship naval programme is already underway, and we are now standing up our air vertical.
We are headquartered in New Delhi. The people joining now will be present at every significant programme milestone.

ABOUT THE ROLE
You will own the battery and Battery Management System across all our platforms. The battery is the highest-risk subsystem we build: a fault that is benign in a laboratory is catastrophic in a sealed vehicle, and the pack has to stay safe and predictable across a wide range of load, temperature, and state of charge. Your job is to make a high-energy pack that is safe under fault, accurate in what it reports about itself, and able to deliver from high-power demand down to long dormancy. The discipline is the same across platforms, which is why this is one shared seat.
Full technical scope shared under NDA at first interview stage.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design Battery Management System architecture: cell monitoring, balancing, protection, and fault response
- Own pack design and pack safety, including thermal runaway containment strategy
- Define charge and discharge management across operating modes
- Build state of charge and state of health estimation and validate against test data
- Manage pack thermal behaviour and fault isolation
- Specify cell selection and run cell characterisation
- Define the power interface to the Power Systems engineer who owns the distribution bus
- Support safety qualification and environmental testing of the pack
