The Godown In-Charge is responsible for the overall management of the Company's warehouse (godown), including receipt, storage, handling, security, inventory control, dispatch of goods, and coordination with transport operations. The role ensures efficient warehouse operations, proper documentation, stock accuracy, and compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Key Roles & Responsibilities: Warehouse Operations
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the godown.
- Ensure proper receipt, storage, stacking, handling, and dispatch of goods.
- Verify incoming and outgoing consignments against relevant documents.
- Maintain proper storage methods to prevent damage, loss, or deterioration of goods.
- Ensure timely loading and unloading of vehicles.
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate stock records and inventory registers.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly physical stock verification.
- Investigate and report any stock shortages, excesses, or damages immediately.
- Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) or other inventory management practices, wherever applicable.
- Monitor stock movements and maintain inventory accuracy.
Documentation
- Maintain inward and outward registers.
- Verify Loading Receipts (LR), Delivery Challans, Gate Passes, E-Way Bills, and other warehouse-related documents.
- Prepare dispatch records and stock reports.
- Ensure timely submission of all warehouse documents to the concerned department.
- Maintain proper filing and record-keeping of all warehouse documents.
Vehicle & Dispatch Coordination
- Coordinate with transport operations for timely vehicle placement.
- Ensure vehicles are loaded correctly and within permissible limits.
- Verify dispatch quantities before vehicle departure.
- Coordinate with drivers and transport coordinators regarding dispatch schedules.
Team Management
- Supervise warehouse assistants, loaders, unloaders, and other support staff.
- Allocate daily work responsibilities.
- Ensure discipline and adherence to company policies.
- Train warehouse staff on operational procedures and safety practices.
Safety & Security
- Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness of the godown.
- Maintain fire safety equipment and emergency procedures.
- Prevent theft, pilferage, unauthorized access, and damage to goods.
- Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines while handling materials.
- Report any security incidents immediately to the management.
Customer & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with customers, suppliers, transporters, and warehouse visitors.
- Resolve warehouse-related operational issues promptly.
- Maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, warehouse procedures, and applicable statutory requirements.
- Maintain records as required under GST, E-Way Bill regulations, and other applicable laws.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of goods according to operational requirements.
Reporting
- Submit daily warehouse operation reports.
- Prepare stock reports, dispatch reports, pending dispatch reports, and damage reports.
- Immediately report any shortages, damages, operational issues, or unusual incidents to management.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Inventory accuracy.
- Timely receipt and dispatch of consignments.
- Reduction in stock losses and damages.
- Warehouse cleanliness and safety compliance.
- Timely submission of warehouse documents.

Required Qualifications
- Higher Secondary (12th Pass) or Graduate in any discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, transport, or inventory management.
- Experience in transport or logistics operations will be preferred.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of warehouse operations.
- Basic understanding of inventory management.
- Knowledge of transport documentation (LR, Challan, POD, E-Way Bill, Gate Pass, etc.).
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, MS Office, email, and warehouse management software, if applicable).
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
Working Conditions
- Work primarily at the warehouse/godown and loading-unloading areas.
- May require extended working hours depending on operational requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining warehouse discipline, safety, and operational efficiency.
Additional Duties
The employee shall perform any other warehouse, operational, administrative, or logistics-related duties assigned by management from time to time in the best interest of the company. The Company reserves the right to modify, expand, or reassign the responsibilities of this position based on business requirements.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹17,000.00 per month
