Experienced technical draughtsperson responsible for producing high-quality, construction-ready interior drawings and working closely with architects, interior designers, MEP engineers, and site teams. The Senior Interior Draughtsman will lead drafting efforts on medium-to-large projects, ensure drawing standards and coordination across disciplines, mentor junior drafters, and help streamline BIM/CAD workflows to deliver projects on time and within specifications.
Key responsibilities:
- Produce detailed, accurate 2D drawings and working drawings for interior fit-outs, joinery, furniture, finishes, partitions, ceilings, lighting, and other interior elements.
- Prepare and coordinate construction drawings, shop drawings, fabrication details, millwork schedules, elevations, sections, and detail drawings suitable for contractors and suppliers.
- Develop, review, and maintain AutoCAD drawings as per project requirements, ensuring model accuracy and discipline coordination.
- Coordinate closely with architects, interior designers, structural and MEP consultants to resolve clashes, update drawings, and incorporate design changes.
- Create and update drawings for tender, construction, and site execution phases; issue drawing revisions and maintain version control.
- Produce and manage drawings for procurement: material schedules, finish schedules, BOQ inputs, and dimensional drawings for vendors and fabricators.
- On-site coordination: conduct site visits to verify dimensions, check installation progress, resolve fabrication/site queries, and issue as-built drawings.
- Ensure adherence to company CAD standards, layer conventions, annotation styles, and drawing templates; propose improvements to drafting standards and workflows.
- Mentor, review, and check the work of junior drafters and trainees; allocate drafting tasks and monitor quality and deadlines.
- Prepare and export drawings, PDFs, and plot sets for client presentations and construction packs.
- Maintain drawing archives and documentation; support QA/QC processes for drawings.
- Keep up to date with industry practices, software updates, and fabrication techniques.
Qualifications and experience:
- Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architectural Draughtsmanship, Architecture, or related technical field.
- Minimum 17 years of professional experience, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or lead draughtsman capacity on interior/fit-out projects.
- Proven experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, educational, or institutional interior projects is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and construction drawing production.
- Hands-on experience with Revit (BIM) required; knowledge of BIM collaboration workflows and clash detection tools (Navisworks or similar) preferred.
- Proficient with MS Office; familiarity with SketchUp, Rhino, or 3D modeling/rendering tools is a plus.
- Good understanding of joinery/fabrication processes, materials, finishes, and typical construction tolerances.
- Knowledge of MEP coordination requirements and ability to read structural/MEP drawings.
- Strong technical drawing skills, attention to detail, and ability to produce shop/fabrication-ready details.
- Excellent communication skills in English (and local language as required); ability to coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
