Job Position : Structural Design Engineer
Experience : 2 to 3 Years

Role Summary
This role involves supporting civil and structural design projects such as bungalows, buildings, factory sheds or steel roofs from concept through detailed design, using industrystandard software and design methodologies. The position includes preparing and reviewing drawings, performing basic calculations, performing software structural analysis, and assisting with analysis reports and other documentation. The engineer will collaborate with architects, drafters for detailing, and other stakeholders to meet project specifications and industry codes. Occasional site visits may be required to understand field conditions, design checking and support construction activities. The engineer should have minimum 1 year of structural design experience in RCC and Steel.
Key Responsibilities
- Understanding project requirements and specifications
- Review and interpret project briefs, architectural inputs, and industry requirements to ensure designs meet functional and regulatory needs. Preparation of structural models
- prepare structural analysis models in the softwares and perform analysis and optmmised design Preparation of drawings
- Prepare initial civil work and structural drawings from sample projects and coordinate with drafters for detailed drawings, with AutoCAD knowledge as an added advantage. Site data interpretation
- Understand and interpret site surveys, slopes, and other field data relevant to infrastructure, retaining walls and other site requirements. Experience based structural problem analysis and solutions
- Analyze technical problems related to design, manufacturing, and construction and propose appropriate structural solutions. Creation of structural analysis models
- Develop structural analysis models using inputs from architectural plans and apply relevant IS/ AISC/IBC codes and design methodologies. Structural design calculations and software use
- Carry out hand calculations and spreadsheet-based designs and use structural software such as STAAD Pro, RAM, RCDC, E-Tabs or similar and foundation design tools. Design and preparation of RCC and steel drawings
- Develop initial RCC and steel design drawings and documents, and guide and check detailed drawings prepared by drafters. BOQ generation
- Prepare bills of quantities for structural works for steel sections based on approved designs and drawings. Site visits and construction support
- Conduct occasional site visits to understand site conditions, support construction activities, and coordinate with project stakeholders.
Essential requirements
- Education
- B.E/B.Tech in Civil Engineering or M.Tech in Structural Engineering for structural design responsibilities.
- Experience
- Up to 2 to 3 years of relevant experience for structural design responsibilities in RCC and Steel structures. Must have understanding of structural members, loads, understanding of drawings.
- Software proficiency
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel; familiarity with structural design software such as STAAD Pro, RAM, RCDC, and foundation design tools.
- Technical knowledge
- Knowledge of infrastructure projects, site surveys, slopes, levels, structural design methodologies, and relevant IS codes.
- Modelling and analysis skills
- Ability to create structural analysis models from architectural inputs and perform safety and capacity checks using in-house calculations and software.
Bonus qualifications
