Job description:
Core Responsibilities:
- Collection Development: Selecting, acquiring, and organizing library materials (books, journals, digital resources, etc.) to support the curriculum and meet the needs of the educational community.
- Cataloging and Classification: Creating and maintaining the library's catalog, using classification systems (like Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress) to make resources easily discoverable.
- Circulation: Managing the borrowing and returning of library materials, including maintaining records and tracking due dates.
- Reference Services: Assisting students and faculty in finding information, conducting research, and using library resources effectively.
- Instruction: Teaching information literacy skills, research methods, and how to use library resources, often through workshops or embedded instruction within classes.
- Promoting the Library: Creating a welcoming and engaging environment, organizing events (like author visits or book clubs), and raising awareness of library services.
- Supervision: Overseeing library staff (if any), delegating tasks, and ensuring smooth library operations.
- Budget Management: Managing the library's budget for acquisitions, resources, and other expenses.
- Technology Integration: Keeping up with technological advancements in library science and integrating them into library services.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
