Inventaa LED Light Pvt Ltd, an LED lighting manufacturer in Oragadam, Chennai, is hiring a Tool Room Head to run our captive tool room building injection moulds and pressure die casting (PDC) dies for our own products. This is a hands-on tool and die leadership role covering mould design, cost estimation/quoting, tool development, trials and team management, using CAD/CAM (NX / Creo / SolidWorks) and GD&T. Ideal for a Tool Room Manager / In-charge / Die & Mould professional from an NTTF / CIPET / GTTC background. Accommodation and food provided.
Key responsibilities
- Design injection moulds and pressure die casting dies from part data and DFM review
- Prepare cost estimates and quotations; decide make-in-house vs outsource
- Own tool development from design to T0/T1/T2 trials and part approval
- Plan and schedule tool room machines (CNC/VMC, wire & sinker EDM, grinding, milling, lathe) and manpower
- Lead trials and troubleshooting — flash, short shot, warpage, sink marks; porosity/soldering on PDC dies
- Maintain mould/die history cards and a preventive-maintenance schedule
- Coordinate with NPD, production, quality and vendors
Requirements
- Diploma / BE in Mechanical or Tool & Die Making — NTTF / CIPET / GTTC / CITD preferred
- 15+ years in a die & mould tool room, with hands-on tool design and development
- Strong on a CAD/CAM package (NX / Creo / SolidWorks / Cimatron) and GD&T
- Knowledge of tool steels (P20, H13/2344, S136), hardening and texturing
- Working knowledge of both injection moulding and pressure die casting processes
