Job Title: NICU Staff Nurse
Location: Iswarya Fertility & Women's Hospital, Sivakasi
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated NICU Staff Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in providing specialized care to premature, low birth weight, and critically ill newborns. Candidates with prior experience in a Maternity, Women's Healthcare, or Neonatal Care Hospital will be given preference.
Eligibility
- B.Sc. Nursing / GNM with a valid Nursing Council Registration.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Experience in a Maternity, Women's Healthcare, or Multi-specialty Hospital is preferred.
- Good communication, teamwork, and critical care skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing compassionate neonatal care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to newborns admitted to the NICU.
- Monitor and record vital signs, oxygen saturation, feeding, and overall clinical condition.
- Assist neonatologists and pediatricians during neonatal procedures and emergencies.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and other prescribed treatments accurately.
- Operate and monitor NICU equipment, including incubators, warmers, CPAP, ventilators, infusion pumps, and phototherapy units.
- Maintain strict infection prevention and control practices.
- Educate and counsel parents regarding newborn care, breastfeeding, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation and patient records.
- Coordinate effectively with doctors and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and patient safety protocols.
Work Schedule
- Rotational shifts
- Night shifts are part of the duty schedule, and candidates should be willing to work night shifts as required.
Salary
- Salary will be based on experience, qualifications, and interview performance.
Preferred Candidate
- 2–3 years of hands-on NICU experience is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of neonatal critical care and emergency management.
- Experience handling premature and high-risk newborns.
- Excellent observation skills, empathy, and commitment to delivering quality neonatal care.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound clinical decisions during emergencies.
