COWI's Heavy Civil team in India is rapidly growing and to support the growth we are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Leading the development of electrical designs from feasibility and proposal stages through FEED and detailed design to project completion, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with client requirements.
- Making informed electrical engineering design decisions and provide technical leadership to project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Developing, implementing, and promoting electrical engineering best practices while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and client specifications.
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, and other key project stakeholders.
- Preparing, reviewing, and approving key electrical engineering deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Cable Block Diagrams, Load Schedules, Power Distribution Layouts, Earthing and Bonding Designs, Lightning Protection System designs, and equipment specifications and datasheets
- Performing and reviewing electrical engineering calculations and power system studies, including load flow analysis, short-circuit studies, motor starting analysis, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, equipment sizing, protection coordination studies, and arc flash assessments where applicable.
- To be proficient in the use of industry-standard electrical engineering software and design tools, including ETAP, SKM, and AMTECH for power system analysis and electrical studies, as well as Dialux and Relux for lighting design, simulation, and calculations.
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant international and local standards, including IEC, NFPA, BS/EN, DS/EN, and project-specific requirements, including tunnel and infrastructure-related standards where applicable.

You have a Bachelors/Master's degree in Electrical engineering and have more than 10 years of relevant experience preferably in Heavy civil Infrastructure. Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or eligibility for Chartered Engineer membership through a recognized professional institution is highly preferred.
On top of that, you will have:
- Experience in leading, mentoring and supporting junior engineers and designers, fostering technical development and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Proven leadership experience in global design delivery or international consulting environment.
- Demonstrated experience of working in multi-cultural and multi-national team environment. Working experience within North America, Scandinavian or UK markets would be advantageous.
- Demonstrated impeccable English communication skills – verbal and written.
- To be self-driven and intrinsically motivated to make a positive difference for the team, COWI and self.
- Experience to apply company QA/QC procedures and conduct thorough reviews of engineering deliverables to ensure quality, consistency, constructability, and reliability.
- Experience to support project planning, resource management, technical risk assessments, and proposal/ business development activities as required.
- Experience in managing electrical interfaces across multidisciplinary infrastructure projects and resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
