The MEP Plumber is responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing plumbing and related MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) systems in residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The role requires knowledge of plumbing drawings, pipe installation, water supply, drainage, sanitary systems, and plumbing fixtures.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and maintain water supply, drainage, sewage, and sanitary piping systems.
- Read and interpret plumbing/MEP drawings, layouts, and specifications.
- Install pipes, valves, pumps, water tanks, sanitary fixtures, and related equipment.
- Carry out pipe cutting, threading, joining, welding, and fitting as required.
- Install hot and cold-water supply systems.
- Install drainage, stormwater, and sewage systems.
- Conduct pressure testing, leak testing, and system inspections.
- Identify and repair plumbing leaks, blockages, and system faults.
- Install and connect toilets, wash basins, sinks, showers, water heaters, and other fixtures.
- Coordinate plumbing works with civil, electrical, HVAC, and other MEP teams.
- Follow project specifications, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain proper tools, equipment, and materials at the worksite.
- Report material requirements, site issues, and completed work to the supervisor.
- Ensure work is completed according to approved drawings and project schedules.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- ITI/Diploma in Plumbing or a related technical qualification preferred.
- Relevant experience as a plumber in construction or MEP projects.
- Good knowledge of plumbing materials, fittings, valves, and tools.
- Ability to read and understand MEP/plumbing drawings.
- Knowledge of water supply, drainage, sanitary, and firefighting piping systems is an advantage.
- Ability to use basic plumbing tools and testing equipment.
- Good knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience
- Typically 2–5 years of relevant plumbing/MEP experience.
- Experience in residential, commercial, hotel, hospital, or high-rise projects is an advantage.

Working Conditions
The position may involve working on construction sites, in buildings, plant rooms, service areas, and other locations requiring physical work. The employee may be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and according to project shift requirements.
