Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and academically strong PGT Commerce Teacher to teach Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies to students in Grades 11 and 12.
The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering concept-based classroom instruction, completing the CBSE syllabus on schedule, preparing students for board examinations and continuously tracking individual student performance. The teacher must be capable of handling numerical problem-solving in Accountancy, analytical concepts in Economics and application-oriented learning in Business Studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies for Grades 11 and 12 according to the CBSE curriculum.
- Prepare annual academic plans, monthly syllabus plans, lesson plans and revision schedules.
- Complete the prescribed syllabus within the academic timelines established by the school.
- Explain accounting principles, journal entries, financial statements, partnership accounts, company accounts and financial analysis clearly.
- Teach Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Indian Economic Development and related numerical and graphical concepts.
- Deliver Business Studies lessons using practical business examples, case studies and current commercial applications.
- Prepare students thoroughly for CBSE board examinations.
- Conduct regular class tests, chapter tests, unit tests, revision examinations and model board examinations.
- Analyse student performance and implement improvement plans for students scoring below expectations.
- Provide additional academic support, remedial classes and structured practice for slow learners.
- Prepare worksheets, question banks, assignments, case-study questions and competency-based assessments.
- Train students in proper answer presentation, working notes, diagrams, calculations and time management.
- Maintain accurate records of marks, attendance, assignments, syllabus completion and student progress.
- Evaluate answer scripts accurately and provide constructive feedback within the prescribed timeline.
- Communicate students’ academic progress and concerns to the school leadership and parents.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, academic reviews, staff meetings and teacher-training programmes.
- Support commerce-related activities, business quizzes, financial literacy programmes, seminars and student projects.
- Maintain classroom discipline and create a focused, respectful and academically demanding learning environment.
- Perform examination, invigilation, substitution and other school responsibilities assigned by the management.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Commerce, Accountancy, Economics, Business Administration or a closely related discipline.
- B.Ed. from a recognised institution.
- Strong subject knowledge in Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies.
- Familiarity with the latest CBSE curriculum, examination pattern and competency-based questions.
- Excellent English communication and classroom-management skills.
- Ability to use digital teaching tools, presentations and educational technology.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience at the senior secondary level.
- Prior experience teaching CBSE Grades 11 and 12.
- Demonstrated ability to produce strong board-examination results.
- Experience handling Commerce-stream students and academic performance interventions.
- Experience as a class teacher, Commerce Department Coordinator or board-examination evaluator will be an advantage.

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
