Job Title: LPG plant supervisor
Core Responsibilities & Operations
- Bulk LPG Receipt: Supervise the decantation of bulk LPG road tankers into on-site storage bullets, ensuring proper earthing, leak checks, and pressure equalization. [1]
- Cylinder Handling & Bottling: Manage the flow of incoming empty cylinders (from sorting and washing to evacuation, purging, and carousel filling). [1, 2]
- Quality Control: Ensure every filled cylinder is checked for accurate weight (via auto weight-correction scales), proper seal integrity, O-ring placement, and zero leaks using soap solution or electronic detectors. [1, 2, 3, 4]
- Inventory & Reconciliation: Perform daily stock counts and volume reconciliation. Track and minimize bulk LPG losses, cylinder defects, and consumable usage (caps, seals, O-rings)
- 2. Safety, Health & Environment (HSE) Compliance
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to PESO (Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation) guidelines and OISD (Oil Industry Safety Directorate) norms. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
- Permit to Work (PTW): Issue and close work permits for hazardous tasks, routine mechanical maintenance, or hot work. [1]
- Emergency Preparedness: Maintain on-site fire fighting systems, conduct regular mock drills, and ensure all staff understand evacuation procedures. [1, 2]
- Safety Enforcement: Enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and conduct routine safety, CCTV, and PPE audits.
- Maintenance & Equipment Management
- Preventive Maintenance: Coordinate with the maintenance team to inspect filling machines, pumps, compressors, and conveyors.
- Equipment Calibration: Ensure that all electronic filling scales, leak detectors, and pressure gauges are calibrated accurately and certified.
- Downtime Management: Implement quick root-cause analysis when machinery breaks down to minimize bottlenecks and production delays
- Team Management & Administration
- Manpower Deployment: Create shift schedules, ensure adequate staffing levels on the filling floor, and assign daily tasks to operators.
- Training: Provide continuous on-the-job training for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to all operators and contract workers.
- Reporting: Maintain detailed shift reports, production logs, and incident or near-miss records, escalating major issues to the Plant Manager.
Pay: ₹15,354.23 - ₹23,600.02 per month
