Job Summary
DJRS Hospitality is looking for an experienced and passionate *Senior Barista* to join the team at *Zilch Café*. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of specialty coffee, beverage preparation, and café operations while delivering exceptional customer service. As a Senior Barista, you will lead by example, ensure consistency in beverage quality, and support the training and development of the bar team.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and serve a wide range of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based coffees, teas, and specialty drinks.
* Ensure consistency in beverage quality, presentation, and taste while adhering to brand standards.
* Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment.
* Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other beverage supplies, and communicate replenishment requirements.
* Train, mentor, and guide junior baristas on beverage preparation, customer service, and operational procedures.
* Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the coffee station and equipment in accordance with food safety standards.
* Interact with guests professionally, recommend beverages, and deliver an exceptional café experience.
* Support the Restaurant Manager in maintaining smooth café operations during peak hours.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
* Assist in introducing seasonal beverages and improving beverage offerings.
Requirements
* Minimum *2–4 years* of experience as a Barista, with at least *1 year in a Senior Barista or supervisory role* preferred.
* Strong knowledge of espresso extraction, milk texturing, latte art, and specialty coffee preparation.
* Experience operating commercial espresso machines and coffee grinders.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
* Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a fast-paced café environment.
* Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and rotational shifts.
* Hospitality or café industry experience is mandatory.
Preferred Skills
* Knowledge of manual brewing methods and specialty coffee.
* Experience in inventory management and stock control.
* Ability to train and mentor team members.
* Passion for coffee, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences.
