- Manages the forecasting, packaging, and distribution of Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs) and trial supplies.
- Oversee Logistics Service Providers (LSPs), freight forwarders, and depot networks to ensure reliable cold-chain and ambient distribution.
- Onboards, monitors, and offboards third-party Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) to ensure they meet strict quality standards.
- Manage global shipments of investigational medicinal products (IMPs) and ensure real-time temperature data review and excursion management and implements risk-mitigation strategies.
- Ensures all shipments adhere to strict regulatory guidelines like Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Distribution Practice (GDP).
- Triage distribution issues, address site complaints, and manage reverse logistics (returns and destruction).
- Coordinate with clinical trial sites to resolve distribution complaints, facilitate product returns, and process investigational product reconciliation.
- Ensure all logistical operations comply with global regulatory guidelines; support deviation management, risk assessments, and inspection readiness.
- Utilize ERP systems (such as SAP) and supply chain technology to track KPIs, manage inventory, and optimize supply distribution.
- Strong cross-functional leadership, vendor negotiation, SAP/ERP proficiency, and analytical problem-solving
Qualifications & Skills
- Typically requires 10+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations, ideally within life sciences or a pharmaceutical environment.
- Requires familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP.
- Strong risk-management, cross-functional collaboration, and audit-readiness skills.
- Deep understanding of clinical trial lifecycles, GxP (GMP/GDP) requirements, and cold-chain compliance.
