Job Description – Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-oriented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the organization’s complete financial function and provide strategic financial guidance to the management. The CFO will be responsible for ensuring financial stability, strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, profitability, and sustainable business growth.
The role requires a strong understanding of financial planning, accounting, taxation, treasury, budgeting, risk management, MIS, audits, and business strategy, along with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business decisions.
Key Responsibilities1. Financial Strategy & Business Planning
- Develop and execute the company's overall financial strategy in alignment with long-term business objectives.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the CEO/MD and senior management.
- Evaluate business opportunities, expansion plans, investments, and major financial decisions.
- Develop long-term financial plans to support sustainable growth and profitability.
- Analyze business performance and identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization.
2. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, financial plans, and business forecasts.
- Establish financial targets and monitor performance against approved budgets.
- Conduct monthly/quarterly reviews of actual performance versus budget.
- Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare cash-flow forecasts and ensure adequate liquidity for business operations.
3. Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statements, MIS, and other financial reports.
- Ensure proper accounting controls and reconciliation of financial records.
- Review financial statements and provide meaningful analysis to management.
- Ensure financial data is accurate, complete, and available within defined timelines.
4. Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Monitor daily and monthly cash flows and working capital requirements.
- Ensure efficient utilization of company funds.
- Manage banking relationships and financial facilities.
- Monitor receivables, payables, collections, and payment cycles.
- Develop strategies to improve working capital and cash conversion.
- Ensure sufficient funds are available to meet operational and strategic requirements.
5. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act, and other statutory requirements.
- Oversee timely filing of statutory returns and payments.
- Coordinate with tax consultants, auditors, and regulatory authorities when required.
- Monitor changes in applicable laws and assess their financial impact.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance processes are maintained.
6. Audit & Internal Controls
- Lead and coordinate internal and external audits.
- Ensure timely submission of financial records and supporting documentation.
- Establish strong internal financial controls to minimize financial risks.
- Identify control weaknesses and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure audit observations are addressed and closed within defined timelines.
7. MIS & Management Reporting
- Develop and maintain effective MIS and financial dashboards for management.
- Provide regular reports on revenue, profitability, expenses, cash flow, receivables, payables, and other key financial indicators.
- Analyze financial trends and business performance.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to improve operational and financial performance.
8. Cost Management & Profitability
- Monitor operating expenses and identify areas for cost reduction.
- Develop cost-control measures without compromising business efficiency.
- Analyze product/service profitability and contribution margins.
- Review major expenditures and provide financial recommendations before significant investments.
- Support management in improving overall profitability.
9. Risk Management
- Identify and assess financial, operational, and business risks.
- Develop appropriate risk mitigation and financial control mechanisms.
- Monitor credit exposure, cash-flow risks, compliance risks, and other financial risks.
- Ensure appropriate policies and approval mechanisms are implemented.
10. Stakeholder & Banking Management
- Maintain strong relationships with banks, auditors, tax consultants, financial institutions, investors, and other external stakeholders.
- Lead discussions related to banking facilities, loans, working capital, and other financial arrangements.
- Coordinate with senior management on major financial negotiations and commitments.
11. Team Leadership
- Lead and manage the Finance & Accounts team.
- Define responsibilities, performance expectations, and departmental objectives.
- Develop and mentor finance professionals.
- Ensure timely completion of accounting, reporting, compliance, and audit activities.
- Build a culture of accuracy, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- CA (Chartered Accountant) preferred; MBA Finance or equivalent professional qualification will be an advantage.
- 10–15+ years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounts, preferably with experience in a senior financial leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing the complete finance function of an organization.
- Strong experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, audit, treasury, MIS, compliance, and internal controls.
- Experience in strategic decision-making and business partnering with senior management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, statutory requirements, and financial reporting standards.
- Experience working with ERP/accounting systems and advanced MS Excel.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
