POSITION SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
Western India Cashew is looking to recruit Manager – Production preferably with FMCG industry background to be part of “WICC Group”. The ideal candidate Should be from FMCG (Only the Cashew processing industry). Must know BRC standards latest version 8, interacting with customers - so communication skill must be there as we are having high profile customers. responsible for overseeing the overall production operations across multiple shifts/processes and ensuring that production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational KPIs are consistently achieved. The role involves managing manpower, machinery utilization, production planning, process improvements, cost control, and continuous operational excellence while ensuring smooth coordination with cross-functional teams.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Delivery & Production Operations
- Oversee complete production activities across all assigned production lines and shifts to ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Ensure production KPIs, productivity targets, throughput, and customer delivery schedules are consistently met.
- Plan and monitor production schedules for roasting, flavoring, coating, oil roasting, dry roasting, packing, and rework processes.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials without compromising product quality.
- Monitor machine efficiency and coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and improve operational performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce process losses, and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure timely ERP updates, production reports, and process documentation are maintained accurately.
- Coordinate with planning, warehouse, quality, and maintenance departments for smooth production flow.
- Ensure proper space utilization, material movement, and shop floor organization to maintain safe and efficient operations.2. Quality Management
- Ensure all production processes comply with company quality standards, food safety standards, and customer specifications.
- Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process and take corrective actions against deviations.
- Reduce wastage, spillages, and rejections through effective process control and manpower supervision.
- Coordinate with the Quality team to address quality issues and implement preventive and corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, GMP, hygiene standards, and process control measures.
- Drive initiatives for continuous quality improvement and reduction of internal and external complaints.
3. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, hygiene, and environmental regulations within the production area.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the shop floor and ensure employees follow safe working practices.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Ensure pre-operative and preventive maintenance checks are conducted for smooth and safe production operations.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and support teams to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
4. People Management
- Lead, motivate, and manage production teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Ensure adequate manpower planning and allocation as per production requirements.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, shift scheduling, and overtime control.
- Conduct regular performance monitoring, coaching, and skill development for team members.
- Develop a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and maintain healthy industrial relations.
5. Cost & Process Improvement
- Monitor production costs and implement measures to reduce operational expenses.
- Optimize manpower utilization and machine productivity to improve cost efficiency.
- Identify and implement lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives.
- Minimize downtime, wastage, and production losses through effective monitoring and analysis.
- Participate in process development and operational improvement projects.
6. General & Administrative Responsibilities
- Ensure all production records, reports, and documentation are maintained accurately and submitted on time.
- Analyze production performance and prepare MIS reports for management review.
- Coordinate with procurement and stores teams for material availability.
- Ensure proper communication and coordination between shifts and departments.
- Handle production-related escalations and ensure timely resolution.
- Support audits and compliance activities relate to production operations.
7. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete assigned tasks and projects within the defined timelines.
- Support management initiatives and organizational goals.
- Identify operational challenges and proactively implement solutions.
- Provide leadership support during audits, inspections, and customer visits.
- Ensure continuous improvement of culture within the production department.
- Take ownership of departmental performance and operational targets.

Other Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Food Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or relevant field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing/food processing industry with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in FMCG / Food Processing / Cashew Industry preferred
