About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and energetic Bar Supervisor to join the team at Amaru, Bandra. The candidate will be responsible for supervising day-to-day bar operations, maintaining beverage quality and service standards, managing the bar team, controlling inventory, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, beer, sake, and other beverages, along with experience working in a premium restaurant, cocktail bar, or high-end hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities1. Bar Operations
- Supervise the complete day-to-day operations of the bar.
- Ensure the bar is fully prepared before opening and properly closed after service.
- Maintain high standards of bar service, beverage quality, presentation, and guest experience.
- Ensure smooth coordination between the bar, restaurant service team, kitchen, and management.
- Monitor order taking, preparation, dispatch, and service of beverages.
- Ensure all beverages are prepared according to approved recipes and presentation standards.
- Monitor service during peak hours and ensure quick and efficient beverage delivery.
2. Team Supervision
- Supervise and guide bartenders, bar backs, and other bar staff.
- Allocate duties and responsibilities to team members during each shift.
- Conduct regular pre-shift briefings and communicate daily instructions.
- Monitor staff attendance, grooming, discipline, and performance.
- Train team members on cocktails, spirits, wine, sake, service standards, and bar SOPs.
- Support the Beverage Manager/Restaurant Manager in evaluating team performance.
- Ensure proper handovers between shifts.
3. Beverage Knowledge & Guest Experience
- Maintain strong knowledge of:
- Classic and signature cocktails
- Spirits and liqueurs
- Wine
- Beer
- Sake
- Non-alcoholic beverages
- Premium and specialty beverages
- Assist guests with beverage recommendations based on their preferences.
- Explain cocktails, ingredients, flavours, and preparation methods confidently.
- Encourage responsible and effective upselling of premium beverages.
- Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally.
- Ensure VIP guests and special occasions receive personalized service.
4. Inventory & Cost Control
- Assist in managing daily beverage inventory and stock levels.
- Monitor beverage consumption and identify unusual variances.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of alcohol and other beverage products.
- Conduct regular stock checks and physical inventory counts.
- Monitor wastage, breakage, spillage, and complimentary beverage usage.
- Ensure proper recording of all stock movements.
- Coordinate with the Beverage Manager, Purchase, Stores, and Finance teams regarding stock requirements.
- Maintain appropriate par levels for all bar products.
5. Bar Hygiene & Maintenance
- Ensure the bar is maintained in a clean, organized, and hygienic condition at all times.
- Ensure proper cleaning and sanitization of bar equipment, glassware, counters, refrigerators, and storage areas.
- Monitor the condition and cleanliness of bar tools and equipment.
- Report equipment breakdowns, maintenance requirements, and safety issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable hygiene and safety standards.
6. SOP & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to all bar SOPs and company policies.
- Ensure proper billing and POS procedures are followed.
- Monitor complimentary drinks, voids, discounts, and wastage as per company policy.
- Ensure responsible service of alcohol and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate records related to bar operations and inventory.
7. Menu & Cocktail Development
- Assist the Beverage Manager in developing and testing new cocktails and beverage concepts.
- Provide feedback on beverage trends, guest preferences, and competitor offerings.
- Support the launch of new cocktail menus and beverage promotions.
- Ensure all team members are properly trained on new beverage menus before launch.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in bar operations within the hospitality industry.
- Previous experience as a Bar Supervisor, Senior Bartender, Bar Captain, or similar role.
- Experience in a premium restaurant, cocktail bar, luxury hotel, or high-end hospitality establishment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and other beverages.
- Knowledge of sake and Asian beverages will be an added advantage.
- Strong team-handling and leadership skills.
- Good knowledge of inventory and beverage cost control.
- Excellent guest-handling and communication skills.
- Knowledge of POS systems and bar inventory systems.
- Professional grooming and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be passionate about beverages, confident with guests, and capable of leading a busy restaurant bar operation. They should have strong knowledge of cocktails and beverages, excellent team-management skills, and a commercial understanding of beverage operations.
Experience in a premium restaurant or cocktail-led hospitality environment will be highly preferred. Knowledge of Japanese/Asian beverages and sake would be an additional advantage for the Amaru concept.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
