Bhakti Polyplast, established in 2004 and located at Kubadthal, Ahmedabad, is a plastic injection moulding manufacturer specializing in plastic caps and closures and serving leading MNC customers.
With over 20 years of manufacturing experience, we are looking for an experienced Plant Head to lead our manufacturing operations and help build a more organized, systematic and scalable plant structure.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can manage plant operations while also developing people, processes, SOPs, accountability systems and operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day plant operations covering Production, Quality, Maintenance and Warehouse & Logistics.
- Ensure achievement of production plans while maintaining quality, productivity, delivery and cost objectives.
- Organize the manufacturing operation by clearly defining roles, responsibilities, reporting lines and accountability.
- Develop and implement SOPs, Work Instructions and standardized manufacturing processes.
- Establish systematic production reporting, shift handover, escalation and performance-review systems.
- Manage and develop Production Managers, Supervisors, Quality personnel, Mould Setters and Machine Operators through the respective functional structure.
- Improve machine utilization, productivity, cycle time, changeover efficiency and manpower productivity.
- Work with Maintenance to reduce machine breakdowns and downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Lead and monitor the Quality function while ensuring consistent product quality and process control.
- Monitor rejection, rework, scrap and customer complaints and ensure appropriate corrective actions.
- Coordinate with PPC for effective execution of the approved production plan. PPC will remain an independent function reporting to the Director.
- Coordinate with Warehouse & Logistics to ensure smooth material flow and finished-goods movement.
- Establish plant-level KPIs and regularly review performance with management.
- Drive 5S, discipline, continuous improvement and systematic working practices.
- Identify operational gaps and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Develop and implement a structured plant improvement plan for improving efficiency, productivity and scalability.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs, wastage, downtime and other operational losses.
- Develop supervisors and shop-floor employees through training, clear responsibilities and performance expectations.
Organization & System Development
A major part of this role will be to organize and systemize the existing manufacturing operation.
The Plant Head will be expected to:
- Review the current plant structure and identify organizational gaps.
- Define clear responsibilities for employees at each level.
- Establish reporting and escalation systems.
- Develop SOPs and Work Instructions for critical processes.
- Standardize machine operation, mould-setting and changeover procedures.
- Establish proper shift handover and production reporting systems.
- Ensure employees understand and follow their responsibilities.
- Train employees on newly established procedures.
- Monitor implementation and hold responsible personnel accountable.
Candidate Profile
- 10–15 years of total manufacturing experience preferred.
- 7–10+ years of hands-on plastic injection moulding experience preferred.
- Experience as a Plant Head, Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Production Manager, Senior Production Manager or equivalent.
- Strong experience managing production teams, supervisors and shop-floor manpower.
- Strong practical knowledge of injection moulding machines, mould setting, mould changeovers, machine parameters and cycle-time optimization.
- Experience developing and implementing SOPs, Work Instructions and manufacturing systems.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to organize an existing manufacturing operation and establish accountability.
Industry Preference
Strong preference will be given to candidates with:
- Previous experience in plastic caps & closures manufacturing.
- Experience in high-volume injection moulding operations.
- Previous experience working with or supplying to MNC customers.
- Experience with stringent customer quality requirements and audits.
- Knowledge of process control, traceability and manufacturing documentation.
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, Plastic, Polymer, Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field.
- CIPET or equivalent plastics-industry qualification will be an advantage.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S or similar experience will be an advantage.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a hands-on Plant Head who can build systems, not just manage daily production.
The ideal candidate should be capable of taking an existing operation and establishing:

The candidate should be comfortable working with management as well as directly with supervisors, mould setters and machine operators.
