Ducktile Iron pipes Factory - Cold Zone Technician
Department: Mechanical Maintenance (Cold Zone)
Reporting To: Maintenance Engineer / Shift In-charge
Job Summary
The Cold Zone Technician is responsible for the preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment located in the cold processing areas of the Ductile Iron Pipe manufacturing plant. The role ensures maximum equipment availability, minimizes downtime, and supports continuous production by maintaining finishing, coating, material handling, and utility equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment in the cold zone.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical components to ensure smooth plant operations.
- Maintain conveyors, rollers, chain drives, gearboxes, couplings, bearings, pumps, and material handling systems.
- Carry out alignment, lubrication, assembly, and dismantling of rotating equipment.
- Attend emergency breakdowns and restore equipment within the targeted downtime.
- Support maintenance during plant shutdowns and annual overhauls.
- Monitor equipment health and report abnormal vibrations, leakages, unusual noises, or wear.
- Coordinate with Production, Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I), and Quality departments during maintenance activities.
- Maintain maintenance records, checklists, and equipment history.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and housekeeping standards.

Qualification
- ITI – Fitter (Preferred)
- ITI – Mechanic (Industrial Maintenance)

- 2–6 years of relevant experience in:
- Ductile Iron Pipe Manufacturing
- Steel Plants
- Rolling Mills
- Foundries
- Cement Plants
- Heavy Engineering Industries
Preferred Knowledge
- Preventive Maintenance (PM)
- Predictive Maintenance (PdM)
- 5S and TPM practices
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Safe maintenance practices
- SAP PM or CMMS (preferred)

Pay: ₹15,566.86 - ₹48,000.00 per month
