Job Summary
The Lab Technician is responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing patient specimens while ensuring accurate and timely reporting of laboratory results. The role includes maintaining laboratory equipment, adhering to quality and safety standards, and supporting clinicians with reliable diagnostic services.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood and other clinical specimens following standard protocols.
- Perform routine laboratory investigations in Hematology, Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, Microbiology, and Serology as assigned.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, storage, and transportation of specimens.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Record, verify, and report test results accurately and within the defined turnaround time.
- Maintain laboratory records, registers, and documentation.
- Follow infection control, biomedical waste management, and laboratory safety guidelines.
- Monitor reagent inventory and inform the supervisor about stock requirements.
- Participate in internal and external quality control programs.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with hospital policies.
- Assist during audits, NABH quality initiatives, and other departmental activities.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT).
- Registration with the relevant statutory authority, if applicable.
Experience
- 2–6 years of experience in a hospital diagnostic laboratory.
- Freshers may be considered based on qualification and competency.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and quality standards.
- Ability to operate automated laboratory analyzers.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Working Conditions
- Rotational shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays as per hospital requirements.
- Exposure to biological specimens and laboratory chemicals; adherence to PPE and safety protocols is mandatory.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
