Consultant Gynaecologist

Job Summary
The Consultant Gynaecologist is responsible for providing comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological care to patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The role includes diagnosing and managing women's health conditions, performing medical and surgical procedures, attending obstetric and gynaecological emergencies, and ensuring high standards of patient care in accordance with hospital policies and clinical guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients with gynaecological and reproductive health conditions.
- Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to pregnant women.
- Conduct outpatient consultations and inpatient ward rounds.
- Perform elective and emergency obstetric and gynaecological surgeries, including Caesarean sections, hysterectomies, laparoscopic procedures, and other relevant surgical interventions.
- Manage high-risk pregnancies and obstetric emergencies in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Evaluate and manage infertility, menstrual disorders, menopausal conditions, and reproductive health concerns.
- Interpret laboratory investigations, ultrasound findings, and other diagnostic reports to formulate appropriate treatment plans.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls related to obstetrics and gynaecology.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including patient records, operative notes, discharge summaries, and consent forms.
- Counsel patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical procedures, and preventive healthcare.
- Participate in departmental meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education (CME) programs.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control protocols, patient safety standards, and statutory regulations.
- Supervise and guide junior doctors, RMOs, interns, and nursing staff as required.
Qualifications
- MBBS with MD/MS/DNB in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
- Valid State Medical Council/National Medical Commission (NMC) registration.
Experience
- Relevant experience as a Consultant Gynaecologist in a reputed hospital is preferred.

Working Conditions
- Rotational duties, including on-call responsibilities, night shifts, weekends, and public holidays, as per departmental requirements.
- Participation in emergency obstetric and gynaecological services on a 24/7 roster basis.
Pay: From ₹200,000.00 per month
