Role Overview: We are a fast-growing Personal Care and Cosmeceutical startup. We are looking for a high-caliber Senior Analytical Chemist with 5+ years of experience to lead our new laboratory. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the setup, validation, and routine analysis of raw materials and finished products (creams, serums, actives) using our Shimadzu Nexera UHPLC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analytical Lead: Take full ownership of the Shimadzu Nexera (LC-40) workflow, from mobile phase preparation to final data integration in LabSolutions.
- Method Development: Develop and validate robust stability-indicating methods for Cosmeceuticals (e.g., Retinoids, Vitamin C, Peptides, Preservatives).
- Cross-Technique Mastery: Beyond HPLC, perform testing using other essential lab techniques (e.g., UV-Vis Spectroscopy, pH, Viscosity, Micro-testing, and potentially GC-MS or FTIR as the lab expands).
- Startup Agility: Assist in setting up lab SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) from scratch and ensuring the lab meets USP/ISO quality standards.
- Troubleshooting: Act as the first line of defense for instrument "handshake" issues, pressure leaks, and hardware maintenance.
Technical Requirements:
- Education: Master’s or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in an analytical QC or R&D setting.
- Industry Background: Specific experience in Personal Care, Cosmetics, or Pharmaceuticals is mandatory.
- Hardware/Software: Direct experience with Shimadzu Nexera/LabSolutions is highly advantageous; experience with Agilent or Waters is acceptable if the candidate demonstrates high technical adaptability.
Personal Attributes for our Startup:
- Resourcefulness: You are comfortable working in a lean environment and can "wear many hats."
- Ownership: You treat the instrument and the lab as your own; you are meticulous about cleanliness and calibration.
- Communication: Ability to explain complex analytical results to the product development team.
