Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate, skilled, and enthusiastic German & French Language Teacher to teach foreign languages and develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. The teacher will create an engaging language-learning environment through interactive activities, conversations, cultural activities, and technology-supported instruction.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging German and French language lessons according to the school curriculum.
- Develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation skills.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, projects, and language-learning resources.
- Conduct conversation practice, role plays, presentations, and interactive language activities.
- Assess students through classwork, tests, oral examinations, projects, and regular evaluations.
- Provide additional support and remedial instruction to students who require assistance.
- Introduce students to the culture, traditions, history, and everyday communication of German- and French-speaking countries.
- Organize language clubs, cultural events, competitions, quizzes, and other language-related activities.
- Use audio-visual resources, smart classrooms, and digital tools to enhance language learning.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student progress.
- Communicate with parents regarding students’ academic progress when required.
- Collaborate with other teachers and participate in staff meetings, school events, examinations, and training programs.
- Encourage students to develop confidence and practical communication skills in foreign languages.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in German, French, Foreign Languages, Linguistics, or a related field.
- B.Ed. / equivalent teacher-training qualification preferred.
- Proficiency in German and/or French appropriate to the teaching level.
- Relevant language certification such as Goethe-Zertifikat / DELF-DALF will be an advantage.
- Previous teaching experience in a school or educational institution is preferred.
