IT – Corporate Relations

Reporting To: Head – Training & Placement

1. Position Overview
The IT – Corporate Relations professional will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with IT companies, technology organisations, startups, IT service providers, product companies, and other relevant industry partners for student placements, internships, industry projects, training, and corporate engagement.
The role requires strong corporate networking, communication, relationship management, and placement coordination skills, with a clear understanding of the IT industry and current technology-sector hiring requirements.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Corporate Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with IT companies, technology firms, startups, MNCs, product-based companies, and IT service organisations.
- Identify new corporate partners for placement, internship, training, and industry engagement.
- Regularly communicate with HR professionals, recruiters, talent acquisition teams, and business leaders.
- Maintain a structured database of corporate contacts and engagement history.
- Build long-term relationships with key IT industry partners.
B. Placement & Recruitment
- Identify and generate placement opportunities for students from BCA, B.Tech, MCA, MBA-IT, and other relevant programmes.
- Coordinate with companies for campus recruitment drives, virtual recruitment, walk-in drives, and off-campus opportunities.
- Understand company Job Descriptions (JDs), eligibility criteria, salary packages, locations, selection processes, and hiring requirements.
- Share relevant student profiles with companies and coordinate the complete recruitment process.
- Ensure smooth coordination between recruiters, students, faculty, and the Training & Placement team.
- Track offers, selections, joining status, and placement outcomes.
C. Internship & Industry Projects
- Develop internship opportunities with IT companies and technology organisations.
- Coordinate summer internships, industrial training, live projects, and industry-based projects.
- Build partnerships for student exposure to real-world IT projects.
- Maintain records of internship opportunities, selections, joining, completion, and feedback.
D. Industry Engagement
- Organise industry interaction sessions, corporate talks, guest lectures, workshops, hackathons, technical sessions, and career awareness programmes.
- Invite senior IT professionals and industry experts for student engagement.
- Facilitate MoUs and long-term institutional partnerships with relevant IT organisations.
- Explore opportunities for industry-sponsored projects and technology initiatives.
E. Understanding IT Industry Requirements
- Stay updated with current IT hiring trends and emerging technology roles.
- Track demand for skills such as software development, data analytics, AI/ML, cloud computing, cybersecurity, UI/UX, testing, DevOps, digital marketing, and other technology domains.
- Understand industry expectations regarding technical and soft skills.
- Share industry insights with academic teams to support curriculum and skill-development initiatives.
F. Student Preparation
- Coordinate with faculty and TPO teams to identify students eligible for IT opportunities.
- Support students in understanding company requirements and recruitment processes.
- Facilitate pre-placement talks, aptitude preparation, technical preparation, HR interview preparation, and mock interviews.
- Identify skill gaps among students and communicate the same to relevant academic/training teams.
G. Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain updated records of companies, recruiters, JDs, placement drives, internships, selections, and offers.
- Prepare regular corporate relations and placement reports for management.
- Track company-wise engagement and placement conversion.
- Maintain proper documentation of meetings, communications, MoUs, and corporate visits.
- Share regular updates with the Head – Training & Placement and Management.
3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Number of new IT companies added to the corporate network.
- Number of active corporate relationships.
- Number and quality of placement opportunities generated.
- Number of internship opportunities generated.
- Placement conversion and joining ratio.
- Average salary/package of IT placements.
- Number of new recruiters visiting the campus.
- Number of industry sessions, workshops, and corporate interactions conducted.
- Number of MoUs/strategic corporate partnerships established.
- Recruiter satisfaction and repeat participation.
- Timely completion of corporate and placement reports.
4. Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Management, IT, Computer Applications, Computer Science, Engineering, HR, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- MBA/PGDM in HR, Marketing, Business Development, M.tech IT or a relevant field will be preferred.
5. Experience
- 3 years and above of relevant experience in corporate relations, IT recruitment, business development, campus recruitment, talent acquisition, or Training & Placement.
- Candidates with strong experience in dealing with IT companies and corporate HR teams will be preferred.
- Prior experience in an educational institution, university, college, IT company, recruitment firm, or corporate environment will be an advantage.
