Job Summary
The Coffee Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial coffee machines across restaurant and café outlets. The role ensures maximum equipment uptime, consistent beverage quality, and adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and test commercial coffee machines at restaurant and café locations.
- Perform preventive maintenance as per the maintenance schedule to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic faults in coffee machines.
- Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and minimize downtime.
- Calibrate coffee machines and grinders to maintain beverage quality standards.
- Inspect and replace worn or defective components such as pumps, boilers, valves, sensors, thermostats, and filters.
- Maintain water filtration systems and ensure proper descaling and cleaning procedures.
- Coordinate with outlet managers to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance logs, and spare parts inventory.
- Recommend spare parts procurement and monitor inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, electrical safety, and company maintenance standards.
- Train outlet staff on basic machine operation, cleaning, and daily preventive care.
- Liaise with equipment vendors for warranty claims and technical support when required.
- Support new outlet openings by installing and commissioning coffee equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or ITI in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or a related technical field.
- 5–7 years of hands-on experience in servicing commercial coffee machines.
- Experience working in restaurants, cafés, hotels, QSRs, or coffee chains is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of espresso machines, bean-to-cup machines, grinders, and brewing equipment.
- Understanding of electrical circuits, plumbing, boilers, pumps, and control systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service documentation.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning and troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards related to beverage equipment.
- Basic computer skills for service reporting and maintenance tracking.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to prioritize multiple service requests.
- Willingness to travel between restaurant locations.

Preferred Experience
- Experience servicing brands such as La Marzocco, Nuova Simonelli, Victoria Arduino, Rancilio, WMF, Franke, Jura, Schaerer, or similar commercial coffee equipment.
- Experience in multi-outlet restaurant or café operations.
- Valid two-wheeler/four-wheeler driving license is an added advantage.
