KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the merchandising team — assign accounts, review progress, and ensure timely, accurate execution across all orders
- Handle end-to-end order management for garments and home textiles for EU and US buyers — from order confirmation to shipment
- Own costing and pricing — prepare and review cost sheets, negotiate with buyers, and monitor order-level margins
- Identify and manage risks at the order and account level — production delays, compliance gaps, cost overruns — and resolve them proactively
- Build and maintain strong buyer relationships; serve as the senior point of contact for escalations and key decisions
- Coordinate with design, sampling, production, quality, and logistics to keep orders on track
- Ensure all orders meet EU and US compliance, testing, and documentation requirements
- Track department performance and share regular MIS reports with senior management
- Recruit, train, and mentor the merchandising team
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Technology, Textile Management, or a related field; MBA is a plus
- 12–15 years of experience in merchandising in a garment export house or textile company
- Experience managing a team and handling EU/US buyer accounts independently
- Strong knowledge of garment and home textile costing, manufacturing, and compliance
- Proven ability to manage risks and take accountability for delivery and commercial outcomes
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Proficiency in MS Office; ERP experience is an advantage
