Job Summary
The Maruti Suzuki Automobile Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Maruti Suzuki vehicles according to manufacturer standards. The technician ensures high-quality service, customer satisfaction, and compliance with safety and quality procedures while efficiently handling routine maintenance and complex mechanical and electrical repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance services, including engine oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, wheel alignment, and tire rotation.
- Repair and replace defective components such as engines, transmissions, suspension systems, steering systems, brakes, and electrical assemblies.
- Conduct vehicle inspections before and after repairs to ensure quality standards are met.
- Use diagnostic software and service manuals to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer schedules.
- Test drive vehicles when required to verify repairs and identify performance issues.
- Maintain accurate service records, repair reports, and job cards.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
- Follow all workplace safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
- Coordinate with service advisors regarding repair estimates and customer concerns.
- Participate in technical training programs to stay updated on new Maruti Suzuki technologies and repair procedures.
- Perform scheduled servicing and preventive maintenance on Maruti Suzuki vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, braking systems, batteries, and electrical parts.
- Conduct vehicle inspections before and after repairs to ensure quality standards.
- Use Maruti Suzuki service manuals and diagnostic software for troubleshooting.
- Perform engine tuning, wheel alignment, brake servicing, clutch repairs, and other mechanical repairs.
- Test drive vehicles when necessary to verify repairs and diagnose issues.
- Complete job cards, repair reports, and maintenance records accurately.
- Maintain workshop tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate with Service Advisors regarding repair status and customer requirements.
- Attend technical training programs to stay updated on new vehicle technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or ITI in Automobile Engineering, Motor Mechanic Vehicle (MMV), or a related technical field.
- Maruti Suzuki technical certification is preferred.
- Valid driving license (preferred).
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in automobile servicing and repairs.
- Experience working with Maruti Suzuki vehicles is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of petrol, diesel, and hybrid vehicle systems.
- Proficiency in engine diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with electrical and electronic vehicle systems.
- Ability to operate computerized diagnostic equipment.
- Understanding of preventive maintenance procedures.
- Knowledge of workshop safety standards and quality control practices.
