Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Software Tester / QA Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for freshers or candidates with up to 6 months of experience who are passionate about software quality and eager to build a career in software testing.
The candidate will be responsible for testing web and mobile applications, identifying defects, validating requirements, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products.
Responsibilities
- Understand business and functional requirements.
- Prepare and execute test cases and test scenarios.
- Perform manual testing on web and mobile applications.
- Identify, document, and track software defects.
- Validate application functionality against requirements.
- Perform Smoke, Sanity, Functional, and Regression testing.
- Conduct frontend and backend validation.
- Participate in requirement discussions and team meetings.
- Verify bug fixes and perform retesting.
- Collaborate with developers and business teams to resolve issues.
- Prepare testing reports and maintain test documentation.
Required SkillsManual Testing
- Good understanding of Software Testing concepts.
- Knowledge of SDLC and STLC.
- Understanding of Defect Life Cycle.
- Basic knowledge of:
- Functional Testing
- Regression Testing
- Smoke Testing
- Sanity Testing
- Integration Testing
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Requirement Understanding
- Ability to understand and analyze business requirements.
- Ability to derive test scenarios from requirements.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
SQL & Database Skills
- Basic SQL knowledge is required.
- Ability to write and execute:
- SELECT statements
- WHERE conditions
- JOIN queries
- GROUP BY and ORDER BY queries
- Ability to validate data stored in databases.
Backend/API Testing
- Basic understanding of REST APIs.
- Knowledge of API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Understanding of:
- GET, POST, PUT, DELETE methods
- Status Codes
- JSON Request and Response
Frontend Testing
- Validate UI functionality and workflows.
- Verify field validations, navigation, and responsive behavior.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and browser developer tools.
Error Analysis
- Ability to identify and report defects clearly.
- Basic understanding of application errors and browser console logs.
- Ability to reproduce issues consistently.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, MCA, BCA, BSc (IT/Computer Science), or related field.
Experience
- 0 to 6 Months of experience in Software Testing.
- Freshers with strong testing knowledge are encouraged to apply.
Good to Have
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Exposure to Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar defect tracking tools.
- Knowledge of Selenium, Playwright, or any automation testing tool.
- Internship experience in software testing.
