Job Summary
The Cashier is responsible for handling all cash and card transactions at the resort, maintaining accurate records of daily collections, processing guest payments, and ensuring proper reconciliation of cash, credit/debit card, and other payment transactions. The role requires accuracy, honesty, good customer service, and adherence to financial procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle cash, credit/debit card, UPI, and other payment transactions accurately.
- Collect payments from guests for rooms, restaurants, banquets, spa, minibar, and other resort services.
- Prepare and issue bills, receipts, and payment acknowledgements to guests.
- Verify guest bills and ensure all charges are correctly posted before collecting payment.
- Maintain proper cash float at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Count and reconcile cash and other collections at the end of the shift.
- Prepare daily cash collection and cashier closing reports.
- Deposit daily collections with the Accounts Department as per resort procedures.
- Ensure proper documentation of all cash transactions.
- Handle refunds and cancellations only with proper authorization.
- Coordinate with Front Office, F&B, Banquets, Housekeeping, and Accounts departments regarding billing and payment-related matters.
- Verify credit card settlements and UPI/payment gateway transactions.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and guest information.
- Report any cash shortage, excess, billing discrepancy, or suspicious transaction immediately to the concerned supervisor.
- Follow all resort policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls.
- Provide polite and professional service to guests while handling payments.
- Assist the Accounts team with daily accounting and administrative activities when required.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Good knowledge of cash handling and billing procedures.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
- Good numerical and calculation skills.
- Familiarity with POS and hotel billing systems.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to handle cash and financial information confidentially.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple transactions.

Qualification & Experience
Education:
- Minimum 12th pass; Diploma/Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Hospitality is preferred.
Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience as a Cashier in a hotel, resort, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
- Freshers with good numerical and communication skills may also be considered.
Working Conditions
- Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to handle high-volume transactions during peak periods, events, and banquets.
- Maintain professional grooming and appearance as per resort standards.
