Job Summary
The Nursing Floor Incharge is responsible for supervising and coordinating all nursing activities on the assigned floor. The role ensures high-quality patient care, efficient utilization of nursing staff, adherence to hospital policies, NABH standards, infection control practices, and patient safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Ensure safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care.
- Monitor the condition of admitted patients and ensure timely interventions.
- Coordinate with consultants, Resident Medical Officers (RMOs), and other departments for seamless patient care.
- Ensure accurate implementation of doctors' orders and nursing care plans.
Staff Supervision
- Supervise and guide nursing staff, ward attendants, and support staff.
- Prepare duty rosters and manage shift allocations.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, and professional conduct.
- Mentor newly joined nurses and provide on-the-job training.
Quality & NABH Compliance
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards, hospital policies, and nursing protocols.
- Monitor documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Participate in internal audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure implementation of patient safety goals and quality indicators.
Infection Prevention & Control
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control practices.
- Monitor hand hygiene compliance and biomedical waste segregation.
- Ensure availability and proper use of PPE.
- Report and manage infection control incidents promptly.
Medication & Equipment Management
- Supervise medication administration and safe medication practices.
- Ensure emergency drugs and crash carts are complete and functional.
- Monitor availability and maintenance of medical equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions immediately.
Patient & Family Satisfaction
- Address patient and attendant concerns professionally.
- Maintain effective communication with patients and their families.
- Promote patient education regarding treatment, medication, and discharge instructions.
Documentation
- Verify nursing records, medication charts, consent forms, and treatment records.
- Ensure incident reports are completed whenever required.
- Maintain departmental registers and reports accurately.
Emergency Management
- Lead the nursing team during medical emergencies.
- Coordinate emergency response, patient transfers, and referrals.
- Ensure staff are trained in BLS/ACLS protocols.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain adequate inventory of nursing supplies and consumables.
- Coordinate with Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology, Housekeeping, Biomedical Engineering, and Maintenance departments.
- Conduct daily rounds and submit reports to nursing administration.
- Participate in departmental meetings and training programs.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing / GNM (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Valid Nursing Council Registration.
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of clinical nursing experience.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Nursing Supervisor, Ward Incharge, or Floor Incharge in a multispeciality hospital.
- Experience in NABH-accredited hospitals will be preferred.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
