Job Title: Energy Efficiency Engineer – India
Role Summary
EcoSmart Energy Systems is seeking Energy Engineers for conducting energy audits, carbon accounting, and Energy Management System (EMS) deployment across industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities. Engineers will perform site surveys, equipment assessments, and data acquisition for HVAC, chillers, pumps, lighting, solar PV, and utility systems. The position requires frequent travel and contributes to sustainability reporting, Scope 1/2/3 emissions mapping aligned with international standards
Qualifications
- B.E. / M.E. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering
- 1–2 years of experience in energy audits, facility operations, or sustainability projects
- Working knowledge of carbon accounting frameworks (GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, CDP)
- Familiarity with EMS platforms, utility billing structures, and tariff modeling
- Experience in surveying equipment, collecting field-level data, and benchmarking facilities
- Exposure to renewables (solar PV, hybrid systems), energy storage, and net metering
- Proficiency in technical writing, audit documentation, and client reporting
Preferred
- Valid Indian passport and willingness to travel extensively across states
- Familiarity with BEE, ECBC, ISO 50001 standards
- Valid Indian passport and readiness for intercity travel
- Experience with audit instruments: power analyzers, flow meters, data loggers, lux meters
- Understanding of Scope 1 (direct emissions), Scope 2 (purchased energy), and Scope 3 (value chain emissions)
Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys and technical assessments for energy audits, carbon footprint assessments, and site surveys
- Perform carbon foot printing and emissions mapping for Scope 1, 2, and 3
- Benchmark facility performance, recommend ECMs, and quantify savings
- Prepare technical reports, sustainability documentation, and ECM proposals
- Assist in EMS rollout, baseline modeling, and performance monitoring
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project execution and client onboarding
Technical & Functional Competencies
- Strong analytical skills for energy data interpretation, technical writing, and documentation skills
- Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision and deliver under deadlines
- Proficiency in MS Office / Office 365 tools
- Willingness to travel and stay at project sites
