Job Purpose
To manage and control process quality, incoming quality, in-process inspection and final quality while driving continuous improvement, reducing rejection/rework and ensuring compliance with customer and QMS requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day process quality and quality control activities across manufacturing processes.
Monitor Incoming, In-Process and Final Inspection to ensure product conformity.
Analyze process defects and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using Why-Why Analysis and other quality tools.
Prepare and implement 8D, CAPA and corrective/preventive action plans for internal and customer complaints.
Monitor process rejection, rework, scrap and customer complaints and drive reduction initiatives.
Prepare and maintain Control Plan, PFMEA, inspection standards and quality documentation.
Conduct regular process audits, product audits and internal quality audits as per defined schedules.
Ensure proper implementation of QMS procedures and quality standards on the shop floor.
Handle customer complaints, coordinate root-cause analysis and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
Support New Product Development (NPD), NPI and new line/product qualification activities.
Coordinate with Production, PPC, Stores, Maintenance and other departments for resolution of quality issues.
Lead and monitor Kaizen, 5S, line balancing and continuous improvement activities.
Monitor process parameters and ensure adherence to approved process specifications and work instructions.
Ensure proper identification, traceability and segregation of OK, NG, rejected and rework material.
Handle and guide the Quality Inspectors/Team Members and monitor their performance.
Conduct training and awareness sessions for operators and quality personnel regarding quality requirements and defect prevention.
Ensure proper use and calibration/verification of measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
Analyze quality data and prepare daily, weekly and monthly quality reports/MIS.
Work towards reduction of customer PPM, internal rejection, rework and process variation.
Ensure effective implementation of ECN/change management and communicate relevant changes to concerned departments.
Participate in trial production, product evaluation and reliability/validation activities.
Maintain quality records and documentation required for customer, internal and system audits.
Promote 3R/4M, 5S and continuous improvement practices on the shop floor.
Identify recurring quality problems and implement permanent corrective actions.
Support management in achieving Quality KPIs and customer satisfaction objectives.

Qualification
Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electronics, Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering or relevant technical discipline.
Preferred Candidate
Candidate should have 7–10 years of experience in Quality/Process Quality, preferably from automotive/auto-component or manufacturing industry, with hands-on experience in shop-floor quality, audits, RCA, 8D, CAPA and continuous improvement.
