A kitchen helper (or kitchen assistant) is the backbone of food service, supporting chefs and waitstaff to ensure restaurants run smoothly. Their primary duties include assisting with basic food preparation, maintaining strict kitchen sanitation, managing dishwashing operations, and organizing ingredient inventory.
Core Responsibilities
Food Preparation
- Wash, peel, chop, and slice fruits and vegetables.
- Weigh, measure, and pre-portion ingredients for the culinary team.
- Assist with assembling salads, cold plates, and packing takeout orders.
- Help load, unload, and organize vendor food deliveries. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Sanitation & Cleaning
- Scour pots, pans, plates, and cutlery, or load and unload the commercial dishwasher.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors, wipe down counters, and sanitize workstations.
- Empty trash bins, replace garbage liners, and clean garbage cans as required.
- Ensure all cooking equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use
Pay: ₹14,000.00 - ₹16,000.00 per month
