Cybersecurity Intern — Nextroy Dynamics Private Limited, Hyderabad
We’re looking for a Cybersecurity Intern to help secure our web apps, cloud services, and internal systems used for course delivery, student data, and product demos. You’ll assist with vulnerability assessments, monitoring, and implementing security best practices while learning practical defensive and operational techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in performing vulnerability assessments and basic penetration tests on web applications, APIs, and internal services.
- Monitor logs and alerts from SIEM tools (or Google Workspace logs, CloudWatch, etc.); triage incidents and escalate when necessary.
- Help implement and enforce security controls: access management, MFA, least-privilege roles, secure password policies.
- Review code and configurations for common security issues (OWASP Top 10), and suggest fixes with developers.
- Configure and maintain secure CI/CD practices and container security checks (Docker image scanning, secrets management).
- Support secure deployment and hardening of cloud resources (AWS/GCP/Azure basics), firewalls, and network segmentation.
- Create and maintain security documentation: runbooks, incident response plans, and security checklists.
- Run phishing simulations, basic social-engineering awareness campaigns, and assist with employee security training.
- Work with product and dev teams to integrate security into the SDLC and perform threat modeling for new features.
- Track compliance-related tasks and assist with data protection practices for student information.
Requirements:
- Pursuing or recently completed B.Tech/B.E./MCA/BSc in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- 0–1 year internship experience or hands-on projects in cybersecurity, system administration, or networking preferred.
- Basic knowledge of networking (TCP/IP), Linux administration, and common security concepts (encryption, authentication, firewalls).
- Familiarity with web application security concepts (OWASP Top 10), vulnerability scanners (Nmap, Nikto, OWASP ZAP), and basic penetration testing methodology.
- Exposure to cloud fundamentals (AWS/GCP/Azure) and container tooling (Docker) is a plus.
- Scripting ability in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Good analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to document findings clearly.
- Strong communication in English, Hindi, and/or Telugu; comfortable explaining technical issues to non-technical teams.
- Ethical mindset, respect for privacy and data protection, and willingness to follow responsible disclosure practices.
- Available for 6-day shifts (9 AM - 6 PM) or flexible hours for students.
