Wanted Assembly Supervisor (Sheet metal )
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Assembly Supervisor with hands-on experience in sheet metal manufacturing and assembly operations. The candidate will be responsible for supervising the assembly team, ensuring production targets are achieved, maintaining quality standards, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring smooth day-to-day production activities.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage day-to-day sheet metal assembly operations.
- Allocate work to operators and assembly workers based on production requirements.
- Ensure daily and monthly production targets are achieved.
- Monitor assembly processes and ensure proper sequence of operations.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and work instructions.
- Ensure correct usage of components, fasteners, tools, fixtures, and materials during assembly.
- Coordinate with the Design, Production, Quality, Stores, and Maintenance teams.
- Identify and resolve assembly-related production issues.
- Ensure products are assembled as per drawing, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor rejection, rework, and material wastage and take corrective actions.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of assembly tools, fixtures, and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspection of work-in-progress and finished assemblies.
- Maintain production records, manpower records, rejection reports, and daily production reports.
- Train and guide operators on assembly methods, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
- Ensure proper 5S, housekeeping, safety, and discipline within the assembly area.
- Follow company safety procedures and ensure PPE compliance.
- Support continuous improvement activities to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Coordinate with stores for timely availability of components and materials.
- Escalate major production, quality, manpower, or material issues to the Production Manager.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and assembly processes.
- Good knowledge of assembly methods, fasteners, fixtures, and hand tools.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of sheet metal components and fabricated parts.
- Good manpower handling and team management skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Basic knowledge of 5S, safety, quality, and production systems.
- Basic computer knowledge, especially MS Excel and production reporting.
- Ability to work under production pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication / enclosure / panel / machine assembly / industrial products will be preferred.
- Experience handling a team of operators and assembly workers.
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering production environment.
