Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Manager with a strong background in Ocean Freight operations. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in freight forwarding, with expertise in export/import operations, customer service, carrier management, pricing, and team leadership. The role requires ensuring smooth end-to-end ocean freight operations while maintaining high service standards and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end Ocean Export and Import freight forwarding operations.
- Lead and mentor the operations team to achieve service excellence and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, overseas agents, transporters, customs brokers, and customers.
- Negotiate freight rates with shipping lines and service providers.
- Ensure timely booking, documentation, cargo movement, and shipment tracking.
- Monitor KPIs, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Resolve operational issues, shipment delays, and customer escalations.
- Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and company SOPs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and overseas partners.
- Support business development by providing competitive pricing and operational solutions.
- Prepare MIS reports, operational dashboards, and cost analysis.
- Drive process improvements and cost optimization initiatives.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Ocean Freight (FCL/LCL) operations.
- Expertise in Import & Export documentation.
- Good understanding of INCOTERMS, customs procedures, and international trade.
- Experience in freight rate negotiation and vendor management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in ERP/TMS systems and Microsoft Excel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Commerce, or a related field.
- Certification in Logistics/Supply Chain will be an added advantage.
- Preferred Candidate Profile
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Freight Forwarding with a strong focus on Ocean Freight.
- Experience managing teams and handling key customer accounts.
- Background with leading freight forwarding or logistics companies is preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Compensation: Up to ₹24 LPA (Based on experience and current compensation).
Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
