Position Overview:
The Production Engineer will play a pivotal role in optimizing the production processes, ensuring system-based entries within the ERP, monitoring Work in Progress (WIP), and troubleshooting bottlenecks. The role requires an individual with a strong grasp of production ERP systems and the ability to manage end-to-end production processes efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Execution:
Develop, implement, and manage production schedules to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain) to ensure seamless production flow.
ERP System Management:
Enter and maintain accurate production data in the ERP system.
Ensure real-time tracking of production metrics, inventory, and WIP status through the ERP.
Work with the ERP team to identify and troubleshoot any system-related production issues.
WIP Monitoring & Bottleneck Management:
Track and analyze WIP to identify any production delays or inefficiencies.
Develop strategies to mitigate bottlenecks, optimizing the flow of materials and processes.
Implement lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve productivity.
Process Improvement & Optimization:
Analyze production workflows, identify areas for improvement, and implement lean manufacturing methodologies.
Use data-driven analysis to reduce production cycle times, enhance process quality, and improve cost efficiency.
Lead Kaizen and Six Sigma projects to ensure continuous improvements.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Work closely with Quality Assurance teams to address quality issues and improve production quality.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Ensure production processes adhere to safety and environmental regulations.
Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions to minimize risks.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of production activities, including output, machine performance, and downtime.
Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly production reports, including key metrics and performance indicators.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
1+ years of experience as a Production Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems in production or manufacturing.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in production ERP software (e.g., SAP, Logic ERP) and system-based production entries.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong understanding of production processes, WIP monitoring, and bottleneck analysis.
Industry-Standard Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and analysis.
Knowledge of AutoCAD or other CAD software is a plus.
Soft Skills:
