Production Manager – Investment Casting / Automotive Manufacturing Industry
Qualification
- B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the Investment Casting, Automotive Components, Hard Goods, and Sheet Metal Manufacturing Industry.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and monitor daily production activities to achieve production targets and customer delivery schedules.
- Manage end-to-end manufacturing operations including investment casting, shell room, melting, pouring, knockout, fettling, machining, fabrication, assembly, and finishing processes.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, materials, and utilities to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Develop and implement production plans in coordination with PPC, Quality, Maintenance, and Stores departments.
- Monitor production performance and take corrective actions to minimize downtime, rejection, and rework.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for cost reduction, process optimization, and productivity enhancement.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, customer specifications, and process control requirements.
- Supervise and support production supervisors, engineers, and shop floor personnel.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance activities with the maintenance team to ensure machine availability.
- Maintain production reports, shift reports, rejection analysis, and efficiency records.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, 5S practices, and statutory requirements within the manufacturing facility.
- Participate in new product development, trial production, and process validation activities.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, consumables, and work-in-progress to avoid production interruptions.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and other operational excellence initiatives.
- Support audits related to quality systems, customers, and statutory compliance.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Investment Casting manufacturing processes.
- Sound understanding of Automotive Manufacturing operations and production systems.
- Expertise in Hard Goods and Sheet Metal manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of production planning and control (PPC).
- Ability to analyze production data and improve operational efficiency.
- Strong understanding of quality tools such as 7 QC Tools, Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, and FMEA.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and Continuous Improvement techniques.
- Familiarity with machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly operations.
- Knowledge of production cost control and inventory management.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and coordination skills across departments.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
