Overview:
The Principal Engineer, Continuous Improvement enjoys data mining, identifying improvement opportunities, leading teams to identify root cause and implement and sustaining improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead projects of cross functional global teams through the DMAIC cycle to identify non-value added steps and waste in the process and identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement.

Help manage company productivity program and support sites in achieving their yearly goals.

Drive a culture of data-based decision making in both transactional and manufacturing processes.

Analyze data to discover trends and issues and identify predictive and preventative actions to improve reliability and reduce variation in a process.

Help establish a structure and culture of continuous improvement across the global corporation

Provide training on data analysis, lean and Six Sigma tools.

Implement a structure to sustain improvements and embed the new processes into the current workflow.

Lead and assists in defining, setting and implementation performance improvement strategies at locations.

Collaborate with and influence senior management on areas of improvement and translate mgmt. expectations into project deliverables.

Assist and lead digitalization and automation efforts globally that will assist in predictive maintenance etc.

Drive the standardization, implementation and communication of organizational best practices

Drive the implementation of Organizational Management at sites and the implementation of Leading and Lagging KPIs.
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
-
Lean Manufacturing training and implementation of Lean Tools in both Manufacturing and Transactional environments
-
Lean Six Sigma training and certification (Green Belt, preferred Black Belt, Master Black Belt, or Lean Master Black Belt)

Strong statistical background and skilled at data analysis

Working knowledge of MiniTab (SAP and Power BI preferred)

Ability to interface and collaborate with senior mgmt. on opportunities and project status

Broad and deep knowledge of Quality theories/tools that can be implemented in a Chemical Industry

Ownership mentality, passionate about improving our processes and cost efficiency

Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills to communicate within the team and with customers
Required Years’ Experience:

10+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment practicing Lean Six Sigma tools and Data Analysis
Required Education:
-
A Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or a related technical discipline
Travel Requirements:

Domestic and International travel. 25-50% of time
