Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Production Manager to manage and control the complete production operations of our Fasteners Manufacturing Plant, primarily involving Nuts, Bolts, Screws, Washers and related engineering components.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in fastener manufacturing, production planning, shop-floor management, manpower handling, quality coordination and productivity improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize and monitor daily, weekly and monthly production activities.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within the planned time, cost and quality parameters.
- Manage complete production processes for Nut, Bolt, Screw, Washer and other fasteners.
- Prepare production plans based on customer orders, inventory and dispatch requirements.
- Monitor production processes such as forging, heading, thread rolling, tapping, machining and related operations.
- Ensure optimum utilization of machines, manpower, raw materials and other production resources.
- Monitor machine productivity, production efficiency, rejection and downtime.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve production output.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Purchase and Dispatch departments for smooth production operations.
- Ensure proper adherence to approved process parameters, drawings and quality standards.
- Reduce rejection, rework, material wastage and production losses.
- Monitor manpower deployment and ensure effective utilization of workers and supervisors.
- Lead and guide Production Supervisors, Foremen and shop-floor workers.
- Maintain and review daily production reports, downtime reports, rejection reports and productivity reports.
- Ensure proper implementation of 5S, safety practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) on the shop floor.
- Conduct regular production meetings and review target vs. actual performance.
- Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Ensure timely completion of production as per customer delivery schedules.
- Take responsibility for overall production discipline and shop-floor efficiency.
Required Experience:
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, preferably in the Fasteners / Nut & Bolt industry.
- Strong hands-on experience in cold forging / hot forging, thread rolling, tapping, machining and fastener production processes will be preferred.
- Experience in handling a complete production team in a manufacturing plant.
- Good knowledge of production planning, capacity utilization and productivity monitoring.
- Experience in reducing rejection, downtime and production wastage.
- Candidates from Nut, Bolt, Screw, Washer or Engineering Component Manufacturing industries are preferred.
